    Our previous three PGA Championships at Southern Hills have each produced some of the most memorable moments in golf. We look forward to returning the Championship to Southern Hills and to the greater Tulsa area -- a region of some of the greatest golf fans anywhere."

    "Southern Hills Country Club is honored to have been selected as the site of the 2007 PGA Championship," said John B. Johnson Jr., then-President of Southern Hills Country Club. "In so doing, Southern Hills continues its long tradition of hosting major championship golf tournaments. We are proud to once again showcase our golf course, facilities and the City of Tulsa to golf fans everywhere."

    The PGA Championship, inaugurated in 1916, has been conducted at 68 U.S. sites. The following sites will host future PGA Championships:

  • ( ) Cirque du Soleil makes Detroit look beautiful

    The good thing about being a touring theatrical company from Canada is that you can come to Detroit in January and tell yourself it's balmy.

    For those of us who live here, the magic of Cirque du Soleil is that you can go to Joe Louis Arena for a performance and tell yourself the place isn't dumpy.

    The production Cirque calls "Saltimbanco" opened Wednesday. Cover the ice with sheets of grayish fiberboard, block off all but 4,700 seats with black curtains, and voila: You've got yourself a dreary environment.
